We’ve come a long way in just 3 years. But here’s our VisionC for the future.
Improving Our Annual Camp
Three years in, our annual camp has come a long way. We’ve made great strides in our on the ground logistics, our camp execution, our programs for the kids we host, the tournament, the coaches clinic and the community impact we make every year. There’s still plenty of room for improvement, increased impact, and greater operational efficiencies across the board.
Expanding Our Reach
As VisionC continues its mission to empower youth through basketball and community development, our next goal is to expand into other regions of Cameroon and Africa. After this upcoming year’s camp in Douala, we will begin exploring new locations to bring our programs to more communities. For now, we will maintain one annual camp, ensuring quality and sustainability.
Year-Round Impact
We are investing in the local community by employing local coordinators to work on VisionC projects year-round. This not only provides job opportunities but also ensures the sustainability of VisionC’s efforts, allowing us to stay engaged with the community long after camp ends.
Educational Initiatives
Beyond sports, we want to bolster our educational offerings. We aim to provide tutoring, language lessons, and other academic support, particularly for scholarship recipients. By integrating educational opportunities, VisionC will ensure that its youth not only succeed on the court but in all aspects of life.
Facility and Infrastructure Growth
The key to our future impact is two large-scale projects:
- Court Enhancements: After installing an outdoor court this past year, we are working on adding a protective cover to make it usable during inclement weather. Additionally, we plan to install a permanent indoor basketball court, ideally wooden, and upgrade the existing gym we use in addition to installing several new outdoor courts to function year-round. These improvements will leave a lasting VisionC impact for future generations.
- VisionC Facility: Our long-term vision is to purchase land and build a dedicated VisionC facility. This multi-purpose center would feature basketball courts, classrooms for education, and even a community healthcare clinic. It would serve as a hub for both athletic and academic development, with lasting benefits for the community.
